The Unstandard theme was originally a personal project designed and coded for 5thirtyone.com. The Unstandard is a split two / three column WordPress 2.6 or 2.7+ compatible theme. The home and archive index pages utilize photos rather than text. The latest update is completely optimized and stripped of any unnecessary code allowing for complete customizability. Note that if no images are added via Custom Fields, there are two default image holders that you will want to replace before activating.
In exchange for the download, please include the Unstandard link for others to download for their own use. Note that the default setup displays one lead and eight secondary images on the front page.
The Unstandard supports three independent widgetized zones and features:
- Sidebar - Main: Column displayed on any page but a single post.
- Sidebar - Single: Column rendered on a single post page.
- Footer - Shared: Always visible widgets towards the bottom of the page.
- Threaded / nested comments (WordPress 2.7 only)
- Gravatar support and site admin comment author highlighting

Questions

- What image sizes are used for the main and secondary thumbnails? - Using custom fields, assign a 593 x 225 image with a key titled ‘lead_image’, and a 293 x 150 image with a key titled ’secondary_image’. The value for these keys should be the hosted image.
- What do I do for older posts that I do not have a custom field setup for? - Open the two image placeholders inside the themes images directory and replace with your own placeholders.
