Welcome to Vietnam

Immediately after touching down in Hanoi, Vietnam, I breathed a sigh of relief. We survived being couped up for 15 hours. Immediately after stepping outside the air conditioned gate, a blast of thick heat hit us. Our first encounter of extremely sticky wet heat.

Late night food

Rather than going directly to bed for some sleep, we checked out the streets for some late night food. Throughout the trip, dishes were always full of all the good stuff, and none of the bad stuff. Post Asia, I am still unable to comfortably digest a full American meal after realizing how a light flavorful meal should be – without all the extra fat & grease.

No eating on the street?

On average, we ate roughly 5 meals a day – oftentimes with little more than an hour or two between breaks. Ingredients were fresh, food was tasteful, service was always great, and the prices.. An average meal for two in the US could easily fill 4 to 5 people in Vietnam.

Wicked post and some really nice pictures! I was literally in Nha Trang at the very same time, even on Vinapearl island… did you go in the water park? And the sailing club?
Anyway keep it up and thought you might want to have a look at my travel blog, got some nice features like a geo-tagged picture map etc that’s all fed from a nokia n95 and WiFi, let me know what you think…
