Rather than displaying the date as <strong>March 16, 2006</strong> you can display the date as <strong>16Mar06</strong>.</p><p><code>&lt;?php the_time('dMy') ?&gt;</code></p><p>Insert the above string wherever you wish. Feel free to wrap the function within <code>&lt;span&gt;</code> tags to assign a class and style with CSS. WordPress is PHP so the <a
