In support of the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, 5thirtyone.com is going pink. For the full scoop on the man behind the pink push for October, check out Matthew Oliphant’s Breast Cancer Awareness initiative Pink for October.
An estimated 1.2 million people [worldwide] will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. Contrary to popular belief, breast cancer is not limited to woman. Rather, an estimated 460 men will die from breast cancer in the United States alone. The statistics exhibit the harsh reality of breast cancer both on a local and international front. Although altering the color swatches of a website may not have a direct impact, the indirect affects of promoting breast cancer awareness may remind others to seek regular medical checkups.
Bookmark 5thirtyone.com and keep an eye out for pink hued sites when October 1st rolls around.
Need an idea of how pink can be harnessed into such a way to be eye-catching and appealing? Check out Design Melt Down’s Pretty in Pink, Man of Pink, or sites tagged pink on Styleboost.
There are already a growing number of 9rulers expressing their desire to participate: BgB, Leihu, HeatEatReview, Diary of a Website, Bright Meadow, foogaming, Greenr, Unsympathetic, Wurkit, nostrich, and Forty Media.

Nice blog..love it. And pink is simply awesome.
I am so glad to see another blogger participating in the Breast Cancer Awareness month!
