IE7 {css: auto}

Stomp CSS hacks in one fell swoop. That’s the logic behind the IE7 Javascript library

IE7 loads and parses all style sheets into a form that Explorer can understand. You can then use most CSS2/CSS3 selectors without having to resort to CSS hacks.

The lightweight script is a single-line inclusion in your HTML/XML document. No alteration of your original markup is necessary. Neither do you have to alter your CSS.

Why would we even need to consider the aforementioned Javascript library? IE7 has yet to materialize into the standards compliant browser that we web developers around the world are patiently waiting for.

  1. Statistic of the day: IE7 suppot for CSS 2.1 – 54%.

    Do you have the figures for Firefox, Opera and Safari to compare that stat with? Pretty meaningless otherwise.

    Wow, 2%? I’m not really impressed… and I didn’t know Opera was further than Firefox :O.

  4. Derek says:

    Disgusting isn’t it? A paltry 2% for a major browser revision.
